House themes

The contestants were initially divided into two separate sections of the house, one called 'Heaven' and the other 'Hell.' The 'Heaven' side of the house included the pool and considerably more luxuries, while residents of the 'Hell' side lacked running water and a kitchen of their own. Inmates in 'Hell' were forced to rely on the housemates in the 'Heaven' side for food and to use a tap outdoors for water. This was revealed to the housemates on launch night, and entrants Tanishaa and Andy were tasked with dividing them into households.[6]

As long as the division lasted, inmates were not permitted to cross the boundaries or, except for food, share items between the two sides. On the 31st day, the 'Hell' facility was demolished and all remaining contestants moved to 'Heaven.'

Bigg Boss Warden

The Bigg Boss Warden was a new feature for season seven. She monitored inmates and kept them on time.[7]

Broadcast

The series was first broadcast in India on network Colors beginning 15 September 2013.[8] The series was also broadcast in Pakistan on ARY Digital beginning 21 September 2013[9] and in the United Kingdom on Colors UK on 15 September 2013.[10]

The task for this week was named 'Amdani,Atthani,Kharcha,Rupiya' (Income,Penny,Expenditure,Rupee).Hell housemates had to print Bigg Boss bills to buy any item (food) they needed from the Heaven side, and heaven-mates could sell them on any price they wished. The task lasted two days and whichever side had more money than the other at the end would be declared winner. The heaven-mates were also provided with a lock safe where they had to put all the money. Armaan had to provide Bigg Boss a 100 bills secretly as he had failed to complete a punishment the previous day. Gauhar and Asif were also given a secret task to steal the money from the safe but they failed as heaven-mates stored the money in another place. As a punishment from Bigg Boss, heaven side's money was reduced drastically. The hell side ended up winning by a huge margin and as a result, had stalls set up on their side where they could buy anything with the money they had gathered.FailedPassed

Bigg Boss later announced that the task wasn't over yet,as the hell-mates had captured heaven side, the heaven side could only use their side with permissions from them. Bigg Boss also arranged a court in the house later where each member could accuse another from opposite side had they felt something went unfair. The next day saw the elimination of Hell side and as there were limited beds on the Heaven side,Bigg Boss allowed hell-mates to sleep on them as a reward for their win. Bigg Boss rewarded a total of 2500 luxury points and only the winning team could come up with the list, but they failed to do so within the allowed time period and hence ended up losing all the points.FailedPassed

  • ^note 4 : All the housemates held the right to nominate. Everyone except the House Captain was subject to facing the public vote.
  • ^note 5 : For week four captain nominations occur before the end of previous captaincy reign, as Tanisha was moved to hell side and lost her captaincy ship according to rules.
  • ^note 6 : All housemates had the right to nominate but they could only nominate housemates living on their side of the house.
  • ^note 7 : Tanisha was not eligible for voting as Ratan was given a special power upon her eviction by which she could select any member and deny them the right to nominate.
  • ^note 8 : House captain held a special right to save one nominated housemate and replace him/her with another housemate who was not put up for eviction by the housemates that week.
  • ^note 9 : Shilpa was given a special power to nominate one housemate which will place them directly up for eviction.
  • ^note 10 : Due to the misbehaviour of Tanisha towards Kushal in the Luxury Budget Task, and due to this Kushal trying to get out of the house,Bigg Boss nominated both of them.
  • ^note 11 : The winning team in the Luxury Budget Task and the captain had to nominate two people for eviction.
  • ^note 12 : For Week 7 nominations, Bigg Boss asked the captain to name five contestants who were discussing and plotting nominations which was a violation of Bigg Boss rule.

  • ^note 22 : House Captain Sangram had to choose one housemate that he wants to save from the nominations. He chose Tanisha and she was saved from getting nominated for this week's eviction.
  • ^note 23 : Soon after Kushal got evicted in the mid-eviction, Bigg Boss announced that all housemates have been nominated for eviction which will take place this Saturday.

House regulation refs

  1. ^ All the house specifications were given by the first two entrants (Tanisha & Andy) as per the order of Bigg Boss, and the decision for allotment of Tanisha and Andy was opposite to the second last entrants to their allotment, according to Bigg Boss orders.
  2. ^ Bigg Boss asked the heaven housemates to choose from among them a housemate who is, according to them, ineligible to live on the heaven side. The housemate with the maximum votes is made to swap places with a decided housemate from the hell side inmates. Gauhar, receiving the majority votes, was made to switch sides with Armaan.
  3. ^ Housemates decided by mutual consensus the names of the two housemates, from both sides, they would like to move. Hell housemates chose Gauhar and Kushal and heaven housemates Andy and Sangram.
  4. ^ Bigg Boss asked housemates from both sides to decide by mutual consensus the name of one best and worst performer from their side. All inmates except the worst performer, from hell, and the best performer, from heaven, were made to switch sides. All housemates except Shilpa and Elli switched sides.
  5. ^ Bigg Boss asked Kamya, being the house captain and immune from house-side switch, to name one housemate from heaven who had the greatest contribution in the luxury budget task. Simultaneously Armaan was to name two hell housemates who contributed the least in the task. Kamya chose Andy and Armaan himself and Kushal. All housemates except the names ones were to swap sides. However during the swap ceremony Bigg Boss asked each switching hell housemate to swap positions with one heaven inmate. Pratyusha, after not being chosen by any hell-mate was spared the switch. Later, using the wishing wall, Kamya, Pratyusha and Tanisha wished for Armaan to be transferred to heaven. Bigg Boss fulfilling the wish asked these three to name one housemate to swap Armaan with. They chose Andy.
  6. ^ All hell mates were shifted to the heaven side as the hell was completely destroyed. Bigg Boss also announced that the heaven side was the 'Bigg Boss House' now.
  7. ^ Two new contestants (Ajaz & Candy) entered the Bigg Boss Caravan.[76]
  8. ^ Ajaz and Candy were first shifted to the Main House. Later, Andy was moved to the Bigg Boss Caravan as he was earlier selected by the captain (Kushal) for discussing and plotting nominations (12, 13) which was a violation of Bigg Boss rule. New contestant Sofia also entered the Caravan.
  9. ^ Andy was moved back to the Main House along with Sofia.

Synopsis[edit]

In the show, contestants called 'housemates' live together in a specially constructed house that is isolated from the outside world. Housemates are voted out (usually on a weekly basis) until only one remains and wins the cash prize. During their stay in the house, contestants are continuously monitored by live television cameras as well as personal audio microphones.

Premise[edit]

The program relies on techniques such as a stripped back-to-basic environment, evictions, weekly tasks and competitions set by Bigg Boss, and the 'Confession Room' where housemates convey their private thoughts to the camera and reveal their nominees for eviction. At regular intervals, the housemates privately nominate a number of their fellow housemates whom they wish to be evicted from the house. The housemates with the most nominations are then announced, and viewers are given the opportunity to vote (via SMS or online through social media and smartphone applications) for the nominee they wish to be evicted or to be saved from eviction. The last person remaining is declared the winner.

The contestants are required to indulge in housework and are assigned tasks by the producers of the show (who communicate with the housemates via the omnipresent authority figure known to them only as 'Bigg Boss'). The tasks are designed to test the teamwork abilities and community spirit of the housemates. The housemates' 'luxury budget' (weekly allowance to buy luxury food items other than the supplied essentials) depends on the outcome of assigned tasks.

History[edit]

Creation[edit]

Bigg Boss is a Hindi (Bollywood) adaption of Big Brother created in Netherlands by John de Mol Jr., largely based on the Celebrity Big Brother model owned by the Endemol Shine Group. The show was named Bigg Boss and a house was constructed for the purpose of the show at Lonavla in Maharashtra. Bigg Boss debuted on television in 2006 through Sony Entertainment Television with Arshad Warsi as the host. The show gained popularity after Shilpa Shetty emerged as the winner[3] in Celebrity Big Brother 5 (UK) and replaced Warsi as the host in the second season of Bigg Boss. From the second season, the show has moved to Viacom 18's Colors.

Expansion[edit]

Bigg boss 7 free download all episodes

The show's acceptance and success among the Indian audience paved way for its expansion into other Indian languages.[4] After the sixth season was completed in Hindi in 2013, Kannada[5] and Bengali adaptions were created by Endemol through ETV Network with the same house and resources with Sudeep[6] and Mithun Chakraborty as hosts respectively. While the Kannada version became an instant hit,[7] Bengali version did not turn out to be very successful. The Kannada version saw its subsequent seasons annually, similar to Hindi while Bengali version has completed only 2 seasons in 6 years.

Upon completion of 10 seasons in Hindi, 4 seasons in Kannada and 2 seasons in Bengali, Endemol extended its presence in South India by creating Tamil and Telugu versions of the show with Star India in 2017 and roped in Kamal Haasan[8] and Jr NTR[9] as hosts respectively. In 2018, the show has been adapted to Marathi[10] with Viacom 18 and Malayalam with Star India and the hosts are Mahesh Manjrekar[11] and Mohanlal[12] respectively.

Bigg Boss Malayalam[edit]

Bigg Boss Malayalam is the Malayalam adaption for Bigg Boss which is produced by Star India and aired on Asianet.[91] Veteran actor Mohanlal has been roped in to host the show[92] and the Lonavala house is being used. The voice of big boss is still a mystery[93] for the first season. The prize money is announced to be ₹1 crore(US$140,000). All the episodes of the show are available[94] on the OTT platform Hotstar. Some new elements called 'Unseen', 'Spicy specials' and 'Bigg Boss Plus' was introduced by way of unseen and extra footage's uploaded on Hotstar. Bigg Boss Plus is aired on Asianet Plus and shows part of the day that weren't included in the episode, from 'wake-up call' to 'lights out'.They are not supposed to tamper with any of the electronic equipment or any other thing in the House. They aren't allowed to write using paper, book or anything else in the house. They cannot leave the House premises at any time except when permitted to. They cannot discuss the nomination process with anyone. They cannot sleep in the day time. Also they need to wear mic all the time and speak in only Malayalam language.

Sometimes, the housemates may be nominated for other reasons, such as nomination by a person who has achieved special privileges (via tasks or other things), for breaking rules or something else. If something is very serious, a contestant may be evicted directly

All the rules have never been told to the audience, the most prominent ones are clearly seen. The inmates are not permitted to talk in any other language than the Malayalam.
