The objective of this standard is to provide designers of reinforced concrete structures used for retaining liquids at ambient temperatures with specifications for design and installation. It has been assumed in the drafting of this code that the design of liquid-retaining reinforced and prestressed concrete structures is entrusted to chartered civil or structural engineers experienced in the use of reinforced or prestressed concrete, and that site construction is carried out under the direction of a competent person.
